Job Description: This position will be filled by a suitably qualified person, holding a provincially recognized welder certificate. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the welder is to work within the maintenance team environment, with other trades. The position will be required to work safely and productively with minimum supervision and will be tasked to help maintain site facilities including stationary equipment, mobile equipment and ship loading equipment.
Qualifications & Experience:
Success in this position is demonstrated by the willingness to design, fabricate and install parts needed in all aspects of the operation with the ability to maintain the expected level of safety, quality and productivity. Report all injuries, near misses and incidents to your Supervisor as soon as they take place and take part in incident investigations as required. Qualifications: Prior experience working on mobile and stationary equipment and experience in sand and gravel will be considered a strong asset - Previous mining experience an asset
Valid Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyperson’s Welder Qualification - Valid Driver’s License - Strong interpersonal Skills - Able to work as both part of a team and independently with minimal supervision - Preference given to residents of the North Island - Must be able to pass pre-employment and pre-access drug and alcohol screening and background checks. - Prior experience with computer and maintenance software
