Details:
Reporting to the Health Director, the Community Wellness Worker (CWW) provides client-focused trauma informed access to treatment and rehabilitation services for individuals and families experiencing mental health and addictions issues. While building community relationships, the CWW promotes a culturally safe, healthy and supportive environment that instills a sense of dignity and respect. The CWW will provide advocacy, education, referrals and programs and activities to individuals, groups and families in the community. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential to this position to effectively liaise and interact with staff, clients, organizations and the Kwakiutl community at large. The CWW provides other services to support implementation of the health work plan or to provide back fill coverage when directed.
Qualifications & Experience:
You will have a Bachelor of Social Work, or a recognized Human Service Bachelor of Art in Substance Abuse or Mental Health Counseling. The CWW must demonstrate clear professional boundaries and appropriate accountability measures, file-management, eMR charts/records of interventions, and time management.
