Details: 
Operating from Campbell River, mechanics are required to travel to locations to service working equipment.
Often located on barges off Canada’s West Coast, this role requires a combination of skill and tenacity to achieve results, often in remote and sometimes austere conditions.
You must also be able to travel to worksites located outside cities and towns in remote areas including the skill to navigate logging roads.

Responsibilities include:
• Perform planned preventative maintenance activities and repairs on all types of heavy equipment
• Perform Running Maintenance repairs on various types of heavy equipment.
• Rotate through shop and field assignments as required
• Perform large component replacements
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance performed and equipment deficiencies
• Participate in the development of, and the ability to follow maintenance procedures and instructions
• Participate in safety programs and adhere to site safety standards including the safe operation of machinery
• Ability to travel out of town to work for up to a week at a time
• Troubleshooting of engine, hydraulic, electrical, braking and powertrain systems

Qualifications & Experience: 
• Strong mechanical aptitude & technical skills
• Strong personal commitment to safety and the well-being of coworkers
• Experience with Maintenance Tracking Software and working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Experience with large off-road Heavy Equipment (Manitowoc 4600 Cranes & Support equipment, loaders, excavators, generators and small ancillary equipment)
• A Valid Driver's License
• Able to work at heights
• Able to work within confined spaces
• Physically fit with the ability to climb ladders and work over or near water
• Good communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work with diverse individuals and groups
