Qualifications & Experience:
Accounting legacy system and Adagio Financial System.
• Deposit cheques received, monitor receivables.
• Ensure payables are entered and payments are made in a timely manner.
• Update and reconcile the bank accounts.
• Run payroll from timesheets on a biweekly basis. Manage all payroll remittances, prepare ROE’s as required. Prepare quarterly WCB remittances, and annual reports. Prepare annual T4s. Manage medical, dental and Life Insurance Benefits enrolments and Taxable Benefits.
• Prepare the monthly GST report. Prepare analysis of transactions and prepare Journal Entry to convert the US transactions to Canadian funds as required, before remitting GST.
• Annually complete any statistical reports required.
• Support the Manager and the Foreman with any of the paperwork that they require.
Bookkeeper qualifications and skills
• Experience working in Accounts Payable and Receivable, General Ledger, Payroll and Payroll reports.
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
• Extensive experience with data entry, record keeping and computer operation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, Simply Accounting (Sage) and Adagio.
• Experience in services related to payroll such as writing checks and submitting payroll taxes.
• Strong understanding of business and income tax worksheets and computations.
