SUMMARY:
Plans, implements, and oversees the cultural components of a program. Leads andparticipates in cultural activities with youth.
Participates in cultural programming development and evaluation
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
To perform the job successfully a worker must be able to consistently perform each essential duty satisfactorily (Other duties may be assigned):
Plans and implements cultural activities and special events for a program.
Oversees the cultural components of a program by ensuring that the necessary facilities and materials are in place, program guidelines and policies are adhered to, program standards are met, and the cultural components are culturally safe and appropriate.
Recruits, selects, orients, monitors, and provides support to cultural volunteers such as Elders.

Qualifications & Experience:
QUALIFICATIONS
The requirements listed below detail the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform the essential duties of the job.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Diploma in a related human/social service related field
Extensive knowledge of local Indigenous cultures, including involvement with local Indigenous nations.
Two (2) years’ experience working with high risk youth which should include:
Experience developing and delivering Indigenous cultural programming.
Experience working with youth and families with high risk lifestyles, in a helping capacity.
Experience working independently in an outreach model and as a team.
Experience working with the impact of the following issues on child and youth development: residential schools and inter-generational trauma, substance abuse, physical and sexual abuse, sexual exploitation, family dynamics, child and family development.
