This is a temporary full-time position for 8 weeks.
Summary: The ReStore Associate is responsible for the day to day operations of the ReStore. As the face of the store great customer service and problem solving are a part of the daily routine. Providing our donors and in-store customers with a high level of customer service as the face of Habitat for Humanity Vancouver Island North. An active person who thrives in a fast paced work environment, enjoys working with people from a variety of backgrounds and is resilient and adaptable.
Responsibilities:
Receiving
-Unload ReStore vehicles and donor deliveries. Assess condition of incoming items and help get the item ready for the sales floor. condition,
-Clean and do minor repairs to donated items and appliances to improve the chance of sale.
-Research items we receive to assist with price accuracy
-Serve customers, promote the sale of stock and the Habitat mission.
-Assist customers with the loading of purchased goods into vehicles.
-Able to lift up to 50lbs
Volunteer Relations
-Greet all volunteers.
-Partner with other staff and management to ensure all volunteers have a task.
-Partner with new volunteers to help orient them to the store and provide training on their role.
Merchandising and Cashier
-Greet customers and assist with finding the products they need.
-Check out customers in a friendly and courteous manner.
-Offer fundraising options to each customer such as 50/50 tickets our ongoing current raffle
-Merchandise sales floor to ensure product is categorized, clean and saleable
-Continually condense and create space to ensure an environment easy to shop
-Merchandise end caps to reflect relationship to the product in the corresponding rows
Other Responsibilities
-Act as relief swamper/support for driver in pick-ups and deliveries, if required
-Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
-Carry out any other tasks related to the ReStore operation as per the Manager’s instructions.
