Company:
Sacred Wolf Friendship Centre
Details:
The focus will be centred on indigenous identity, youth development, youth leadership, indigenous reconciliation through education and exploration of traditional territories, job skills training in tourism, recreation, fine arts, customer and or food service industry, etc. This project will incorporate modern outdoor activities with sports and recreation in combination with traditional activities that happen outdoors for the local indigenous population. The outdoor activities will be offered as an incentive to begin exploring and learning about traditional practices in all aspects of Kwa’kwakawa’kw heritage. Workshops on traditional practices will discuss pre-contact practices as commonly known or understood and will be compared to practices today after colonization. Other information shared in these groups will be the Friendship Centre Movement and what it means to people living off-reserve.
