As the Accounting Clerk, you will be responsible for the accounts payable function and general accounting entries and reconciliations, including intercompany billings to/from related parties for all the KDM Management entities. This role will be the initial accounting contact for the internal KDM Management staff to ensure timely and accurate processing of transactions. Responsibilities include continual monitoring and response to incoming communication from vendors and KDM Management staff and ensuring the proper coding and support for purchases.
Your contribution to the team includes:
- Verifies, codes and enters vendor invoices; compiling and processing weekly cheque/payment
- Vendor account setup, re-billing and statement review and resolution of vendor issues and differences
- Continual monitoring of credit card transactions and communication with KDM Management staff for support, culminating in monthly intercompany accounting entries
- Reconciling subledgers and accounts, providing ad-hoc reporting and analysis
- Calculates, prepares and issues documents related to GL accounts such as invoices, inventory reports and account statements
- Support of month end reporting through account reconciliations, intercompany balancing, and assist in project reporting and variance from budget analysis
- Responds to internal and external information requests, maintains good employee relations and solves problems
- Uses computer systems to run databases, extract transaction details, and create reports
- Performs related clerical duties, such as word processing, maintaining filing and record systems, faxing and photocopying.
- Stays current with all regulations, practices, tax laws, reporting requirements and industry trends
What you need to be successful:
- Post-secondary education in accounting or finance
- Minimum 1 year working experience in accounting
- Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization
- Strong working skills in MS Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel
- Ability to quickly adapt to and learn new software
- High level of critical and logical thinking, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts
- Able to work well under pressure
