The Merchandiser will work side by side with ReStore volunteers and staff to handle continuously-changing products and create a flow for shoppers. They will help set the standard for displays by creating visually-appealing and inspiring displays, end caps, focal points, and shopping space. The student will receive a well-rounded retail experience by helping with customer service and cash; the receiving, cleaning, and testing of product donations; and the metal recycling process.
The Merchandiser will also be responsible for the selecting, staging, and photographing items to populate the Online ReStore platform. They will then input the photographs and accurate appealing descriptions. They will also be responsible for pulling items that have been ordered and paid for and placing them in the pick up area. They will post interesting merchandise to the ReStore Facebook page, to help generate sales and interest.
This is an 8-week contract position with a start date of June 7th, 2021
32 hours a week
Wage: $15.60 per hour

- Physical ability to lift 50 lbs
- Organized individual with time management and prioritizing skills.
- A love for recycled items and a passion for assessing and pricing them.
- Have a positive attitude and enjoy providing great customer service
This position is contingent on confirmation of funding.
Successful applicant must comply with funding requirements which are:
- a student be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment
- be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment
- have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
