In this rewarding and important role the Family Counsellor provides services to parents/caregivers struggling with a variety of concerns, including but not limited to: divorce, depression, trauma, family violence, grief and loss.
The work includes assessment, developing and implementing counselling plans, case management, advocacy and referral services.
The successful applicant will work from a trauma-informed perspective; have knowledge of local Indigenous cultures- and an attitude of wanting to learn more, and a good understanding of family systems.
Qualifications & Experience:
Preferred Qualifications:
- A Master’s degree in a relevant field (social work, counselling, etc) , or
appropriate combination of equivalency with experience
- Knowledge and experience in the areas of interpersonal violence, anger
management and conflict resolution.
- Experience and/or training in family counselling
- Experience working with complex and multi-issue families.
