THE OPPORTUNITY
We are currently recruiting for a Time Administrator based in Port McNeill, BC on Vancouver Island North.
What You’ll Do: The Time Administrator is responsible for providing support to the Division Controller, while acting as a first point of contact for the Operation in relation to the timekeeping function.
Who You Are: This is a great opportunity for an organized and detail-oriented individual who has a track record of meeting deadlines while juggling multiple priorities. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and come with 1-3+ years of experience in an office environment and is highly comfortable with using MS Office Suite.
RESPONSIBILITIES
-Daily timekeeping: data entry and processing of hourly crew and contractor timecards;
-Managing requests from Operations relating to payroll;
-Payroll specific administration;
-Provide vacation or backup relief for Assistant Accountant and Finance Administrator; and
-Assist the Finance Department and other duties as required.

Qualifications & Experience:
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
-1-3 years of office experience, preferably in a payroll or an accounting department; and
-Business diploma/degree is a strong asset.
Skills, Knowledge and Required Competencies
-Basic knowledge of Canadian Payroll administration, tax and benefits;
-Intermediate knowledge of MS office (Word, Excel, and Outlook);
-Strong business communication skills, both verbal and written;
-Strong organizational, time management and prioritization skills;
-Efficient and detail oriented with the ability to consistently meet deadlines;
-Effective working both independently or as part of a team;
-Self-motivated, creative and an innovative thinker;
-Ability to manage a fair amount of workload with little direction or supervision with frequent interruptions;
-Maintain up-to-date, complete, and systematic filing system to support accounting and financial records; and
-Assists in other ad hoc accounting and analysis projects if necessary.
