We have an exciting opportunity to join the child and youth services team at Dogwood Place Child & Youth Development Centre in Campbell River. This post reports to the Executive Director and is a member of the organization’s leadership team, and accountable for the overall management of client services at Dogwood Place. As the Coordinator you will serve as a liaison between operations and the program needs and overall strategy of CRADACL.
The successful candidate will have:
• Excellent oral and written communication and planning and organizational skills.
• Excellent ability to utilize program management and decision making skills.
• Strong problem solving skills.
• The ability to lead, and participate in, a productive and interactive team.
• Previous management of staff and a diverse team.
• The ability to make difficult staff decisions based upon needs and best practice.
• Extensive knowledge and an understanding of community based services for children and youth with disabilities, evidence based practices, current trends in funding and service provision, and emerging ideas and thinking regarding service innovation and community inclusion.
• Understanding of finance and a history of fiscal management.
• Experience and success in working with accreditation standards (CARF)/ similar.
• The ability to be flexible and adaptable in many varied situations.
• Computer literacy with strong knowledge of MS Office and intranet/internet applications.

• This post is part time, 22.5 hours per week, working between Monday – Friday (dependent on the needs of the programs).

Qualifications & Experience:
• A degree in a relevant field of human services or child and youth care, or the equivalent education and experience.
• At least three years previous management and administrative work experience, preferably within child and youth services, the social services and/or not for profit sector. A demonstrated working knowledge of specific community based program and related provincial and community support systems, applicable legislation and policies, and experience with CARF accreditation/ similar.
• Knowledge of MCFD funded programs.
