THE OPPORTUNITY
We are currently recruiting for an Operations Administrator to support our Quatsino Forest Operations. This position is located in Port Alice, BC.
What You’ll Do: As the Operations Administrator for Quatsino Sound Forest Operations you will act as the primary support role for the logging operations of Jeune Landing, Holberg, and Quatsino Dryland Sort operations in areas such as safety administration, contract administration, worker training, and other general office duties. You will also work in a supporting role with timekeeping, benefits administration, and finance support including accounts payable.
Who You Are: This is a great opportunity for someone with at least 2-3 years of experience in office administration, including safety and contract administration, managing worker training, and supporting the Supervisors. You excel at tasks that involve strong attention to detail, are a self-starter, and you can keep yourself organized in a high volume, fast paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong comfort level working in different computer programs including the MS Office Suite.
Working Environment: This position is based out of our Port Alice office. This position is performed in person at the office, with all safety protocols in place.
RESPONSIBILITIES
-Provide administrative support to incident investigations, including reporting injuries to WorkSafeBC, submitting investigations and SITRUS reporting,
-Provide administrative support to promote Ability Management, including submitting forms, coordinating therapists and return to work reporting,
-Provide support to the administration of the Alcohol and Drug program, including scheduling pre-employment, for cause and post incident testing, managing accurate records and ensuring contractor compliance with Westerns Alcohol and Drug Policy,
-Provide support to implement Westerns Safety program, including maintaining accurate and complaint records, developing weekly crew meeting information, preparing, and tracking the Annual Safety Improvement Plan and safety reporting,
-Assist the Finance Department as required,
-Provide support to the administration of the training manager database,
-Provide Timekeeping and Benefits administration support,
-Provide administrative support to regional recruitment, training and onboarding initiatives as required,
-Provide administrative support to Managers and General Foremen, Supervisors and employees as required; and,
-Other duties are required and assigned.
