Senior Mine Engineer
Trafigura Group has an immediate need for a qualified Senior Mine Engineer at its Myra Falls Mine on
Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Myra Falls Mine is an underground mine operation located 90 km
southwest of Campbell River, BC in the picturesque surroundings of Strathcona Provincial Park.
Surrounded by mountains and lakes, the trip to the mine has some of the world’s most impressive views.
This position will work a 14x14 FIFO. If you like to work with people in a working environment to deliver

Description:
The purpose for this position is to lead the engineers in the designs, scheduling, and planning to ensure
that the budget is achieved safely. The Senior Mine Engineer reports to the Technical Services and Mine
Manager and is responsible for the following:
• Compliance with Myra Falls Mine HSEC policies
• Leading Mine EITs, Engineers and technicians in their daily tasks including drill and blast letters,
Cable bolt designs, Paste fill designs, Weekly, 3 month and yearly plans.
• Developing and maintaining standards operating procedures for the operations
• Working closely with the mine captains to ensure that technical support is provided to the mine
operations.
• Developing mining forecast/plan as required.
• Undertaking regular site visits to ensure that execution is compliant to the plan
• Attend safety meetings and demonstrate safely leadership

Qualifications & Experience:
• This position requires a degree in Mining engineering from a recognized institution.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in underground mining is required
• A working knowledge of mine planning software such as Deswik is required
• Experience in mine designs and mine schedule using Deswik CAD/Sched is required.
• Previous experience in production designs (drill and blast) is also required.
