Job Title: VIFM Camp Chef
Chef Directly Reports to: Owner’s Operations Managers
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Prepare, pre-cook and/or cook food products as directed.
• Prepare breakfast/lunch/dinner/baking – with the help of the bullcook.
• Be a mentor to the bullcook.
• Prepare "mise en place" (setting in place of foods, garnishes, sauces, dishes, cutlery, etc) and other products as required.
• Be familiar with logistics in your camp – crew change days – pay loads for boats etc.
• Clean kitchen equipment after use according to health and safety policies and procedures.
• Label, date, store and rotate food and beverage products in appropriate storage areas.
• Communicate effectively with the VIFM Operations manager/and relevant contractors.
• Order food/cleaning supplies from suppliers.
• Track and record Mandays – Send to head Office on requested dates.
